Consciousness and parallel universes

If there are parallel universes perhaps similar incarnations of the same person can sense each other. This could be the basis for Self-awareness (seeing yourself from the outside). Self-awareness could come sideways from one parallel universe to another.

Also the similar incarnations of the same person could network together and perhaps be an arbiter of probabilities at the quantum level.

This could be the basis for a feedback loop that explains why the observer effects the observed. Even without parallel universes consciousness could possible enact the same feedback loop.

What are the other possibilities if we could network with similar incarnations of our selves in parallel universes? Could this make us more powerful or grant us additional abilities? Would it serve as a kind of back up if one incarnation dies but others do not? Is this where ESP or ghosts come from?
