Consciousness bridge

Perhaps Consciousness is a bridge (rather than a basic fabric) but what is it a bridge between? It collapses a mist of possibilities into certainty by way of observation and measurement. It does not decide the outcome but merely facilitates it coming about.

Is Consciousness the bridge between:?

· Chaos and certainty

· Between Einstein/Newton and quantum mechanics

· The physical and the non physical

· The natural and the super natural

· The physical and god.

Consciousness may be what is missing from the “theory of everything “, that is alluding scientists ?

Quantum Ramifications

I have been thinking of the ramifications of Stephen Hawkings newest theory which seems to extend the rules of quantum mechanics to the entire universe including the big bang.

Quantum mechanics is thought to present different rules for the very small. While large objects are allowed to have certainty, the very small are only mists of probabilities until they are observed and measured, At this time they collapse into certainty . If instead quantum mechanics applies to all sizes, an observer would be necessary before the universe could become more than just a mist of probabilities. Only the act of observation collapses probabilities into certainties.

Was the observer necessarily present at the beginning? Would this require the existence of god? Or if not, is it enough that the universe would eventually evolve conscious entities?

It makes sense that an observer would first look at the very large.Only now are we turning our observations to the very small through particle accelerators such as CERN. This could cause a decrease in uncertainty as our observations and measurements turn to the smaller.

If the universe is just a mist of possibilities, how is it different from the non universe? The non universe must have potential, for at least once, it became the universe. The key is consciousness. It is the be all and end all.

Without consciousness, to observe and collapse the probabilities into certainty, there is nothing. Therefore consciousness is the basic fabric, (and perhaps the only) fabric, of the universe.

New Spaceship idea

A conventional rocket which seeks to leave earth's gravity needs to lift its fuel along with everything else. This leads to diminishing returns as additional fuel adds additional weight. It would be far better if the fuel could somehow be added in transit rather than lifted.

One way to do this would be to launch the fuel separately to be caught by the rocket in flight. Water could serve as fuel by way of its extreme expansion when heated into steam. Therefore shooting water at an inflight rocket would be beneficial. Not only would it provide fuel but the force of the water hitting the ship would push it upward.

Picture a spaceship with a wide hoop attached to to the top which would catch the water and channel it to the ship thru spokes. Water could be shot at the hoop from the the ground.

At higher attitudes the water might freeze and a a pulse throwing ice balls rather than a steady stream might be desirable. It is also possible that the speed required of the water would cause it to burn up through friction. This could perhaps be remedied by a heat resistant coating placed on water balloons or ice
